Yesterday was a fun day - so much fun, in fact, I didn’t take a single photo….no, I was just too busy enjoying it all….and paying attention to the traffic.
I drove up to Nederland to meet Elizabeth Weintraub “THE Short Sale Savior” from Sacramento and her delightful husband Adam. It’s not a short distance from Red Feather Lakes to Nederland and I definitely underestimated traffic conditions i.e.: stop lights, weekenders and city speed limits but it was well worth it to finally meet Elizabeth and see her old stomping grounds in Nederland, which is located about 17 miles west of Boulder, Colorado.
The drive through the Canyon alongside Boulder Creek was beautiful; their forests are green with nary a patch of beetle kill pine. There were several pull-offs with many cars parked in each one. I was amazed by the number of people who were out on this Sunday enjoying the water and even more by the number of people in Nederland!
And they even have a round-a-bout in the town of Nederland! I hate round-a-bouts. I always enter with a certain amount of trepidation and exit with a grateful prayer. Maybe with more practice I’ll change my mind about round-a-bouts…
Unlike Red Feather, there are many shops, restaurants and people everywhere; it’s a bustling little mountain town. Elizabeth, Adam and I walked across a covered bridge to a small bakery where we had coffee, sweets and great conversation- the time just flew by. Afterward, we walked over to the Pioneer Inn. I got to see the “new” kind of internet jukebox hanging on the wall- I have to say, it’s stuff like this that momentarily makes me feel like a dinosaur… internet jukeboxes and round-a-bouts! LOL
But the very best part of the day and the reason for going to Nederland was to meet Elizabeth. I’ve been reading and commenting on her blog for years, so this wasn’t like meeting a stranger, but a meet-up with an old friend. It was truly delightful to sit with Elizabeth in person.
She told me she usually writes her posts early in the morning. Had I followed this piece of advice, today I would have had this posted long before having to run out and read a propane tank or send several emails back and forth regarding a closing for Friday….
She’s terrific, feisty, fun, smart and caring. I already knew that. I already knew if I were looking for a real estate agent, and especially a short-sale agent in Sacramento I’d call Elizabeth Weintraub- but I didn’t know how much she really cares about her clients. There’s a spark in her eyes that conveys it more in person than you could ever tell just by reading her blog.
I’m so glad that we finally got a chance to meet! I'm glad they remembered to take pictures, too! It was a very special day and a pleasure.
Thanks Elizabeth!
