Motivational Power Quote

Talent is Like Electricity

“Electricity makes no judgment.

You can plug into it and light up a lamp,

keep a heart pump going, light a cathedral,

or you can electrocute a person with it.

Electricity will do all that. It makes no judgment.

I think talent is like that.

I believe every person is born with talent.”

 Maya Angelou, author

As I see it . . . . . . .

Talent is like electricity

Every person is born with talent.

Like electricity your talent is always there some people realize that and make the most of their talent while other seen to be looking for the switch to turn it on.

To maximize the use of your talent you have to direct your talent in the right direction and plug your goals into it to keep them energized.

Having talent and not self directing it is like leaving the lights on when no one is in the room. The meter is spinning, the electricity is going to be wasted and no one benefits.

Talent is like electricity you have to turn it on, plug into it, and have a purpose to use it for. When you make the best use of it and do it with a purpose it will light the way for your success journey and you will experience long term benefits.

Lou, Some people know exactly how to use the talent they have and others need a bit of additional time to figure it all out.

Lou - I definitely think people are born with talent, they just need to find it.

Lou, isn't there a book out there called "Talent is Overrated"?  I read about half of it and have mixed feelings.  Talent is a gift, but the recipiant is responsible for making the most of it.

When you wrote, "Having talent and not self directing it is like leaving the lights on when no one is in the room. The meter is spinning, the electricity is going to be wasted and no one benefits," I really appreciated your input into Maya Angelou's poem. Sometimes a talent  goes unrecognized, therefore it remains unfulfilled. By listening to yourself and to others you can either bring yours or someone else's talent out of the dark and into the light! Great post. :) J

And so many folks truly do not know what their actual talent or talents is or are.  Far too much time is wasted on non-talents or weak talents. Good post.
