I have recently been enlightened that 25 year olds are the entitled owners of the social media job sector. Let’s face it. I was PRESENT at the birth of social media. In a way, I’m like the God of social media. Clearly Kerrie missed the boat and is just a poser.
Here are my reasons why she’s just too old, and should let me, the boy prince of Facebook, Google+ genius, Twitter legend, handle her job.
1. 25 year olds have fun: As your community manager, I promise that you’ll feel left out as I will post pictures of that hip party I went to last night. It was super popular. All three of my friends, who were there as well, liked it. More proof that I know which type of stuff is interesting to share.
2. Lots of free time: As a 25 year old, I barely have any life experience but that’s just because I live at home with my parents. I guarantee you I’ll have loads of time in between watching videos on Youtube and playing with my dog to answer your comments and concerns.
3. It’s just beyond her: Kerrie, if you’re reading this, it’s nothing personal. You just don’t understand that since I grew up with this, it comes naturally to me. I mean, do you get why they call it social media? Cause it’s so social.
4. Social media defines my generation: My generation is proud of many things. We've given birth to Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Jersey Shore. In fact, we just might have contributed the most to the world in the whole history of forever. But since my generation is defined by social media, then clearly I deserve her job. You can thank my generation later.
I could go on, but I’ll save it for later. Luckily, you can see Kerrie and I duke it out this Thursday on Google+. I sure hope she can handle the truth I’m about to bring.
