Today my daughter and I had a date to go to a dermatologist together, Not your ordinary outing, would you say?
Both of us had been putting it off, but both of us knew we had a possible concern. In this day and age, this is no ordinary outing and there is nothing lighthearted about it. Both of us were nervous, but we kept each other from cancelling the appointment.
We both had a biopsy taken, and we will find out on Friday what the deal is.
What brought on this concern? My nephew, my daughters cousin recently died of, I think it's called, Ghost Melanoma. Definitely not the way to go. Heartwrenching. Horrible.
My nephew , only 47, had a doctor who was not concerned when he was checked out originally. A few months later? It was too late.
Skin Cancer Awareness Month was in May 2012.
But it should be EVERY month.
