NetApp is adding 460 new jobs to its payroll in Research Triangle Park.
And get this, the average salary of the new jobs will be $103,043, let me say that again, the average salary of the new jobs will be $103,043!!! Now the 043 number begs some explaining but the real story here is the fantastic average wage these new people will be spending....eh I mean making! The Wake Co. average annual salary is a decent $45,396!

I will gladly start the ball rolling with getting some of those dollars into the local community, first things first, lets buy a house,if they are already here then they know what a good deal housing is compared to a lot of areas in the US. If they are new to the area they can expect to see a good selection of homes in the Triangle (that’s what we call the Greater Raleigh Area) at fairly affordable prices. And if they aren’t afraid to move out a bit, really great homes in great neighborhoods are all over the area.

There has been a slowdown in the Raleigh real estate market over the last number of years  (shocker)  but the market has definitely started to pick up, so much so that some neighborhoods are down to a couple of months of inventory and some have no standing inventory!

Raleigh North Carolina and the surrounding area has long been a place for people to set up shop, raise a family or retire to and Denise Cox, NetApp’s senior vice president of global support says attracting highly qualified employees in RTP and a low attrition rate was a key factor in choosing Wake County over Wichita Kansas.

So NetApp expanding their facility in RTP where they have about 1400 employees is another example of the strength of the Raleigh Area and its ability to attract large companies to come and build factories, research centers, biotechnologies start ups all moving to the area and bringing workers with them or coming for the immense talent pool of highly qualified personnel from the many universities who call the area home. Schools like NC State, North Carolina University at Chapel Hill, Duke plus excellent community colleges like Johnston Community and Wake Community colleges who offer a multitude of courses.
Its a great place to live, I moved here fourteen years ago after visiting in February and having lunch outside....I was sold!
I help people find homes, use a buyers agent, it doesn't cost you anything and you should have someone in your corner, until there’s an App for that, use a Realtor. How are the schools in Wake County, Johnston County is a question we get asked a lot.

Several of these new-hires are moving from our area as a local "gaming" firm is closing and re-allocating their personnel.....these people want to stay mobile so local real estate agents need to explain and DEMONSTRATE to them the VALUE of owning a home....they have HEAVY student loan debt and want to drive a BMW.....owning a home may be down on their WANT list so BEWARE!
