The Texas License Plates are changing again. Just when I started figuring out the pattern they were trying to use, they decided the colorful plates are too distracting. This is even after they took the original chosen in 2009 and said the blue was too dark and then made changes to make it lighter...
The new plate? Plain black and white. Yep, just like we had back in the day. One thing I'll say is that I like being able to read the state name and the numbers and letters are going to be much larger. I'm a license plate watcher as I drive. I like to see the other states' plates. However, too many are in really skinny scripts or contrasting colors and you can't actually read what the state says unless you're a couple of feet away staring at it. South Dakota and Illinois are a couple of examples of that.
Anyway, below is the picture of the new Texas plate. What's so special about it? It has these vertical security threads that help police identify them from a further distance. To me that just sounds like new equipment was bought for every law agency in the state and that's more tax dollars. Yippie... *sarcasm*
What do you think? Boring? Or good to go back to the basic look?
