A Thing of Beauty

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Stop, Look, and Listen. Words of caution before crossing some railroad tracks?

No, words to heed to keep your eyes and ears open in life. What, you say? I say are you paying attention? It's all around you in fleeting moments. What am I talking about you ask? I say,

IT IS A THING OF BEAUTY.  Child Smile

Beauty is everywhere. Little snippets of life.

In real estate, look for the joy on the wife's face as she is handed the keys to the new home she has just purchased at closing and is about to start a new dream chapter in her life.

Look in the eyes of a smiling child who has just gotten off the swings after an afternoon of fun with you.

I have seen it in the "swish" of the basketball going straight through net in a pickup basketball game as the winning shot and all the fellas laughing and patting each other on the back.

It is in the tears of joy of the grandmother when her grandson visits from out of town over Thanksgiving having not seen him in so long.

Beauty is in the opening of an envelope with a heartfelt letter from a loved one who is far away and has taken time to write.

You'll find it with a big smile on your face when a long last friend one day picks up the phone and calls to check in on you and asks, "What's happenin'?" Sorry I haven't called.

Don't miss ALL the beauty there is in life every day and by the way create some yourself!

Gary, I just went to a neighbors sons wedding this last weekend.  I know this is a momentous occasion but the Joy on the grooms face when he saw his bride walking down the aisle was one of those little snippets.  You could tell that he was not having any second thoughts.

Gary-I can just look around at my subscriber's list and see your face come up on the screen and know that the words I'm about to read are going to be full of beauty.  This is such a comforting post and you are so right, beauty is all around us.  We just have to pay attention to the simplicity of it or to the complete detail of it.  God spreads that beauty around with His loving hands to create a masterpiece.  Have a wonderful evening and thank you for such a fabulous post.

Ryan: You are right. It is there. You just have to see it.

Marchel: I think you HAVE it, with your wedding example. Great to know you know what I'm talking about.

Smiling is so easy, and means so much.

Julie: Masterpieces are all around us. We each are one. Thanks for taking time to stop by.

Don: You're going to have to seek out and put some more YouTube Videos on your blog. There also is a Childhood Memories Song group on AR too. Much beauty in song though and the lyrics!

Arina: Funny you should mention that about poetry. In addition to taking a class in fencing in college I stumbled into a class on poetry and I must say it was magical. I would always interpret a poem differently from others, but that aside, I found poetry to be like this purity of finding just the "right" words to say something. It was like a form of purity. Definitely another area of beauty. I see your eyes are wide open in spotting this area of life - very good for YOU!

Gary   This was a beautiful post - they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder..... thanks for reminding us all of those simple basic elements that surround us each and every day if only we pause long enough to acknowledge it in our hearts.

Wishing you a day of smiles and joy!

Gary, We are certainly surrounded by beauty if we take the time to catch it!  Funny that you would mention it, I have pictures of our RR station because I love it---and noticed a check a client had made out to me she had put a heart on it.  These things are priceless, if I were rushing I wouldn't have noticed either.   Wonderful post.

GARY-  ABSOLUTELY!! There is so much beauty around us, but we are often too caught up in the negative aspects of life (complaining) to notice the good stuff. This is GREAT STUFF!! GBU!

Gary,
I do love your posts, so uplifting and inspiring.  I was standing on the porch of my parents' home recently talking on my cell phone and looked at a tree which I have seen all my life.  For some reason, this time I really saw it in all its glorious beauty.    I thought to myself "why have I never noticed how beautiful that tree is before now?"

Gail: Sometimes it just takes a reminder to look around every once in awhile.

Kathy: Those snippets are everywhere, trust me.

Linda: It is interesting about the beholder. Some people have a special gift of seeing inner beauty in people.

Latonia: Appreciation for what you have is great wisdom.

Teri: May you MAKE it a beautiful day!

Carole: Great point, SLOW DOWN, and see the beauty. Maybe we should walk more rather than zip by in cars or trains.

Elizabeth: Negative stuff is draining I agree.

Cynthia: I love that story of the tree. Sometimes in the fall with changing colors, trees really do show us their glory!

Pat: Wow, another extensive comment. Should I expect anything less from you? You are finding a liking to these Stephe Foster tunes now, huh? This Oh Susanna has better tempo, although if I were playing it I would still speed it up some more. Yes Active Rain lets us all join virtually and interact though we are all very much separated geographically. I admit it is a very cool forum. Thanks for your kindness as always. We had fun at our little gathering in Texas. I commented over at the Mr. Potato head link. You're too much Pat. But you already knew that. Adios.
