Paia Maui Hi is one of the world's best surf towns, come and see for yourself

The National Geographic has come up with a list of the world's best surf towns based on more than just consistent waves and good weather.  What else makes for a great surf town?  How about decent accomodations, great places to eat and hang out, friendly locals, and plenty of other activities.

It's no wonder that the Maui north shore beach town of Paia makes the cut, with about 15 good restaurants, a couple of inns, and so many outdoor activities going on.  You'll be pleased to find the aloha spirit alive and well in Paia, with smiling faces greeting you at every turn.

A few of the places to eat in Paia:

Maui activities:
Whether you live on Maui or just like to visit, Paia has a lot to offer at any time of year.  Surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and just plain old sunbathing can be fun on any day of the week at one of the many beaches along the north shore of Maui.  What's your favorite north shore beach?

Paia sounds like a wonderful place to be. I am not a surfer but I enjoy the type of community that you typically find in popular suring areas. I may have to make a visit.

Now that National Geographic has listed it things will likely change as it gets more popular.

Georgina-Hawaii is on my bucket list. This area sounds wonderful with many things to do. Like Jeff I don't surf but it would still be Hawaii. A friend of mine along with her husband and another couple are going to be vacationing in Hawaii in September. I forgot what the name of the island was but it is less of a tourist attraction so I guess less crowded. I can only imagine living there would be incredible. Expensive too I have heard.  Have a great Friday
