Well, I guess after the deer stopped by to eat our tomato plants, string bean plants, squash plants, flowers, etc, they must have given our vegeatation a good review when they got back into the woods out back. In Lovettsville, you just never know what animal you're going to run into next. Deer are everyday visitors these days, but now they must be talking with the skunks and other wildlife. A family of skunks has made their home under the neighbors old chicken house, ( which was easy to locate by following the trail of cucumbers, corn shucks, corn cobs, egg shells, and other items that were recently put in our compost pile). Apparently, this little guy didn't get enough to eat last night, so he figured he would sneek out for breakfast before the rest of his family noticed he was gone. Our curious cat Mosby had noticed some black ball moving in the yard early this morning and was headed over to investigate. I grabbed the camera and cut him off before he got an unfriendly welcome from his new neighbor. "Good fences make good neighbors" doesn't always turn out to be true. But maybe when these guys get bigger, they will move a little further away from our house, and find other items to eat out in the woods.
