There is one contest that I still want to enter this month….the Makeover Contest.

I pick and choose among the contests offered, and, if it works in my schedule (no more blog-a-day contests for me), and if I think I can either learn something or make myself and/or my business stronger, I am in!

And, that is why I have been reflecting on things I can do, redo or fix for about two weeks.

I will submit an entry for the contest tomorrow.  It is not for the points.  It is more about putting it out so that I am committed and stay committed to my goals.

I have a lot of work to do to reach my 2012 goals and this will just help me make a commitment to get more out of the tools that I already have at my disposal, most of which are free, but I have been too lazy or busy to work on.

You have one whole day to give it some thought and still enter, too.

Check it out.  And, see if putting fingers to keyboard (instead of pen to paper) doesn’t give you the incentive you need to make some improvements in your business, too.

Suzanne love the fact that it motivates you, I was vacillating on this contest  and I finally decided to do it.... I just finished publishing it when I popped over to your blog to find that you are going to do it too:)) I probably do every 10th one. It is actually helping me to get more organized and focused, because my competitive nature wants to do it all!

Suzanne, We've gotten selective over which ones we'll do.  If they don't naturally align with what our blogging plan is, we pass on them.  On the other hand, ones that align or push us to do something that we SHOULD be doing, we'll go for.  And sometimes they even change our blogging habit (e.g. Bob's community post challenge.....we're knocking them out regularly long after the contest ended).

I did Anna Banana's last contest, and I am so glad I did.  There isn't a ton of opportunity for a non-agent, but once in a while, I can see how my goals would align with a contest, too.  Best of luck on your essay!

I love the AR contests. They give us an incentive to do something we might not normally do to grow our business or online presence. The extra points are nice, too. Good luck in the make over contest.

Hi Suzanne - I really like the contests because they lead me to think about things I might not normally pay attention to. They have broadened my awareness of many topics, and it's really fun to research them and figure out how to write about them. They're good productivity tools.

Suzanne, I also pick and choose contests, and no longer think I must participate in every one. Some of the recent ones have been great for me, making me think, try new things, and grow. All good reasons -- and the points are fun!

I participate in most but not all of the contests. Many are great for learning.

Hi Suzanne.... I enter most of them but not all....and I agree that submitting a post is a form of committing to a task to be done....

I have met myself going and coming in the door all week I've been so busy.  So while I hope to get some reading done and pick up some good ideas, this one wasn't for me... it simply didn't fit into my schedule.  I AM a huge fan of comsumer friendly contests.

Suzanne, I loke most of the contests. I skip the difficult ones or ones that don't really line up with what I'm trying to do. Unless they're quick, easy points.

Hi Suzanne, I really enjoy the contests, but I have had to set them aside for now while I get my place ready for sale. They take a lot of time as I don't just slap something together. As you say, it is a commitment. And I can't wait until this is over and I can join them again!

I do when I have time.  Recently I've been up to my eyebrows in business...thanks Active Rain.

I pick and choose the contests I do as well.  if they're worthwhile and will help me in some way (hyperlocal posts, etc) then I'm all for it.  I'm getting ready to write the post for the makeover contest right now.

Suzanne:

I enter most contests.  But not all.  Now that I have gotten in the habit of writing a post every day I don't mind contest which require a daily post.    I especially like the contests like Bob Stewarts recent hyperlocal contest.  I am trying to write about all the neighborhoods and subdivisions in my city.

Suzanne, for some reason, I am not motivated by any contest off-late. And I feel I need some 'push'.

Today's contest from Anna is great - on Goals and one more ending today...HomeMakeOver....Let me enter in that contest....

I find I learn something new every contest. Or I learn improved blogging habits.

I haven't participated in any contests recently. They usually don't align with what I'm trying to do with my blog.  I tried the daily blog for 30 day thing.  That lasted 12 days.  LOL.  Good luck to you!

I'm usually in on every contest.  It keeps me coming back to the Rain, where I learn more in ten minutes than I do in many other training classes or continuing ed courses.  The challenges also help get your writing skills in check and most of the time give some good old fashion Google link juice if you structure the post right.  Although I can't say I complete all the challenges, I am an active participant.
