Muppett Movie poster from ARPD websiteThings to Do in Alameda:  The Alameda Recreation and Parks Department free Starlight Movies in the Park “The Muppets” will be shown at July 27 at 8:15 pm at the Alameda Point Multi-Purpose Field at 1101 Alameda.  The field opens at 6:30 pm.  Please bring your chairs and blankets because the weather may be chilly on Friday evening.  Please no barbecue grills, alcoholic beverages or pets.  Call Alameda Recreation and Park Department at 510-747-7529 for more information.


Things to do in Alameda: The Park Street Art and Wine Faire coming to Park Street on July 28 and July 29.  There will be lots to do at the Art and Wine Faire this year including kids play area, art, crafts, music and food, plenty of food.  The event runs on Park Street from Encinal Avenue to Buena Vista Avenue.

Things to do in Alameda: Meyer’s House and Garden open Saturday, July 28 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Meyers House, built in 1897, a Colonial Revival, an architectural style popular around the turn of the century which was designed by Henry H. Meyers a prominent architect in the East Bay.  The house was built by his father, Jacob Meyers, at a cost of $4000.

Things to do in Alameda:  Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Gridwill be back with more food trucks on July 28,from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot near Petco.  Eight to ten trucks will including Curry Up Now, Fins on the Hoof, Five Ten Burger, Hapa SF, Hiyaaa, mayo & Mustard, Nick’s Wheely Good Breakfast and Pacific Puffs.  I am ready, sound so good.


Things to do in Alameda:  The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday, July 28 and Tuesday, July 31 morning from 9am to 1pm, rain or shine.  Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits and vegetables.  The market is at Webster Street and Haight Avenue

Things to do in Alameda:  The 7th annual Frank Bette Plein Air Paintout July 29 to August 3, 2012 is coming to town again.  The Quick Draw will be held Sunday morning July 29 in and around the Marketplace.  So be prepared to see artists all over the city painting outdoor scenes.  Be sure to welcome them to Alameda.  The plein air artists will exhibit their paintings at the South Shore Shopping Center on Saturday, August 4 from noon to 5:00 pm.


Things to do in Alameda: Team Alameda will be riding together on Saturday, July 28 at 8:00 am and Sunday, July 29 at 9:00 am.  Bikers will meet in front of the Kaiser Medical Center.

Elite Homes:  So much to do so little time.  But since I am on the Board of Directors of the Park Street Business Association, I will be spending my entire weekend at the Art and Wine Faire.
