Mother Nature Sometimes Has an Attitude

Our little corner of the world must have some great attraction to weather as over the past 10 days, there have been 2 lightning strikes that have been very close. The first storm not only took out a couple of trees with the jolt, but the electric waves also took 2 DVD players, a router a a cable TV converter box.

The latest storm took out a well pump, a modem, a printer and 2 more converter boxes.

If Mother Nature keeps this up, my insurance premiums will go through the roof, and I will have lost too much working time due to no lights or Internet.

I never quite thought of it that way but Mother Nature has been having a lot of attitudes lately. We have had several homes burn recently because of lightning strikes.

Ed it sounds like it is time to invest in a whole house surge protector :)

Here is a link to some information about them---but most panel manufacturers have their own version.  The one I have for a Murray panel simply replaces a double pole breaker.  The breaker still functions as it did but it also contains the surge protector for the whole house.

You're right Ed, Mother Nature has been showing her attitude lately. We seem to have been having the same weather as you!

Eek!  Lightning is only pretty when viewed from afar.  Somehow we have managed to sit just above all that weather hitting you.

Ed that is beyond "attitude" that is freaky strange.  Ed, it may be time to take a vacation before the next storm zero's in on you my friend since it has run out of electrical equipment to take out.

Ed, It's been a strange spring/summer for storm damage.  We've had more tree limbs break off and trees fall than ever.  I've got a date with a chainsaw this weekend to finish cleaning up the last dropped tree that is leaning on our kennel fence.  We've never had a year like this in 20+ of living here.  Bill

Ed, might be right to take Charles advice and look into a whole house surge protector. Kinda of getting expense around your house lately. Sorry for your misfortune.
