12 Comments on GOVERNMENT RUN AMUCK!! HOA Run Amuck too. #1 Denver
Hi Lenn. Both are bizarre and lack the common sense that a beetle possesses. Oh wait beetles don't have common sense.
Conrad. Beetles know only two things, eat and reproduce. Humans are supposed to be capable of common sense.
They can fine for anything. Once they fined my neighbor for shutter color, the same as my shutter color, and the shutters and color were original to the house! The house was 12 years old then.
Jay. That's authority run amuck.
It seems like the Common Sense we in this country once knew has gone on vacation or moved on elsewhere.

Indeed. I was employed by the SEC when the "Paperwork Reduction Act" was implemented. It added reams of paper to every transaction.
Hi Lenn - Colorado water law is very interesting stuff - hugely complicated and born of necessity - we're a semi-arid climate and our only real source of water is rainfall and snow melt. And almost every lake in the state is man made and pretty much every little bit of water here (including the stuff up in the clouds about to become raindrops) is owned by someone ready to fight for their rights - the richest people in Colorado are water attorneys. That said, the HOA action was obnoxious and ridiculous - but that's pretty much how HOA's work.
Dick. I understand the difficulties of areas such as Colorado and other states in the area where water is a very valuable resource.
What got me about this one was " it’s illegal for Colorado residents to catch the rainwater that falls on their property"
Lenn- common sense is dying a slow death as a result of being strangled by too many non-sensical laws.
Kathy. The cost of the Obama administration's massive and still mounting regulations is draining the life blood from our economy.
Lenn, I live in Colorado. The ironic thing is, the big box stores sell the big rain barrels for collecting the rain for watering plants but it is illegal for most residents.
Nancy
Nancy. Government, local and national is completely out of control with senseless, worthless and costly regulations. They appear to sit around daily thinking of ways to jam more and more regulations down our throats.
