Wow Kwee is that a real hawk? Stay back...they can attack. Great photo for a Sunday Morning.
Hi Jeffrey, yes, it is a real hawk. My husband spotted it near a golf course behind a condo .
Pretty neat Kwee. This Hawk may have a nest near by, they don't normally frequent low lying bushes by buildings.
Good morning, Kwee....no squirrels and no people either.... what a great shot.... ditto to what jeffrey said.
Hi Gabe & Barbara, I think the hawk was injured, because it's wing does not look right.
If the hawk stays there please call the wildlife rescue people. They are awesome birds and if his wing is broken he will starve to death. Please try to see if the wildlife people can help him.
We once had a hawk swoop into the back yard and knock a squirrel off of a feeder, grab him and fly away. It took all of about 2 seconds and sure freaked Jeanne out.
Hawks are magnificent to watch, Kwee. And, yes, they attack things too but a birds gotta eat. :)
Good morning Kwee. It looks like this hawk knew he was being photographed, so he decided to strike a pose. Great pictures!
Kwee, never had a hawk in my baclkyard, but can only imagine, it does keep the smaller birds away! Happy Sunday my friend!
What a BEAUTIFUL bird of prey, Kwee. If I was a squirrel, I would also be hiding from that guy!
That hawk certainly should be a deterrent to some squirrels. I swear the ones in my yard don't seem afraid of anything. For several years I had two palm trees in my front yard. Each year hawks would come to nest up in one of them. They seemed to coexist with the dozen or so squirrels which seemed to think "Mi casa, su casa."
Kwee,
Hawks are an amazing creature. In San Francisco, just before the Golden Gate bridge on the Marin side, there is place called hawk hill. The hawks come there as they migrate. There a hawk volunteers who band them and watch them and test their blookd for signs of their health, etc. We were priviliged to have with us one of the guys who started this hawk preservation group. Hawks are a great way to tell if our environment is healthy, because of all the little creatures they eat. Have a great Sunday.
Kwee,
Great pictures, I love hawks they are so interesting. I also love the the comments by A. I hope you are having a great weekend!
Hi Kwee,
Great picture as it is rare to see them up close as their nest's and perches are usually really high up in the trees. Thanks for sharing such a great bird and I am sure their are not any critters running around for long since hawks have great eyesight and are good at finding prey.
Kwee, Looks like Mr.Hawk has found a condo in Venice to call home and he's making sure no one else is going to purchase this Real Estate!
Kwee,
I hope all is well and you are having a great start to your week! Have a good one!
Hi Kwee, this guy sure is looking for an easy lunch! Wonder if squirrel is on the menu that day?
Thanks for sharing your photographs.
Have an outstanding weekend with your camera in hand.
