Lovely couple with two little ones, is joining the community of Glastonbury, Ct. Due to a job relocation, they moved from Connecticut to another state, a few years ago. Now, the job market has brought them back to us, here in Glastonbury, Ct.
The location is perfect for their commutes to work, shopping and local entertainment.
I found this home for them, quite by accident. The husband was working while they were here for a week. I showed his family homes in several towns and the three homes that made the A list were revisited with the husband. One home that they loved, once the both viewed it, went under deposit within minutes of our showing. That was a disappointment, but, the Seller of that home chose not to wait for our offer. It happens. I advised my clients that it was a home that just wasn't meant for their family. Now, down to two homes. Between the last two, we made an appointment to see each of them, again. We considered the commute to work, the local schools, shopping availability and recreational activities for the family. While I was waiting for them at the last house that we were scheduled to see, I noticed that the house right next door was, also, for sale. I can't tell you why we hadn't noticed it sooner. I called the listing office and the young man who served at the front desk, visually walked me through the home via the photos on the computer of the mls listing. He was awesome. From what he told me, this house sounded perfect for my clients. The price was right, as well. He called the Seller's for me and they did accept our appointment, if we could give them an hour to pick up. Of course, I said, yes!
When my clients arrived, we went into our scheduled appointment of home number 3. I explained my find, next door to them and they said, okay:) Our time arrived and into the house, next door, we went. They loved it. It is open and airy, nicely landscaped yard (though, some bushes and trees will need to be cut back), vaulted ceilings and rooms enough to fit their needs. The only drawback was that the kitchen cabinets were probably, original with the house. Circa 1966. However, I have an excellent cabinet/kitchen woodworker who could turn that kitchen into a dream for them. Custom Cut Interiors is on my client recommended vendor's site and he lives nearby, in Glastonbury!
We went out to eat and wrote the offer. The little ones don't last too long without food After some negotiations, we contracted for the sale of that home. Closed and occupying their new home, my clients are happy:)
Having vision is a wonderful thing! This home will sparkle from room to room. Now, the rooms will be filled with laughter and joy. This new family is excited and anxious to meet others in this commmunity!
