You Just Never Know Where Your Blog Posts Will Come in Handy
In the last two months, I have had two different people find someone they deeply cared for, hadn’t seen in years and were trying to reconnect with them, finding both of them because of posts I had written.
One is a dear friend of mine, Father Rock Sassano,
a retired priest who lives at Fishhawk Lake and is a solid member of our small community. I had written a post about things to do when you’re fifty or sixty (Fr. Rock is 80, but he acts much younger), and when I googled his name, my post came up fifth on the first page. A woman who’d worked with him 20+ years ago was trying to find him. She googled/researched and found this post with a photo of his in it! She and her husband ended up driving out to Fishhawk Lake to find him and say hello. It happened that they found me after trying to locate his home. I let them know that he was visiting family in Montana for the summer and to leave him a note. It turns out that as a result of driving around Fishhawk Lake, they fell in love with this area and want to eventually move out here!
The other is an old friend of past sellers of mine, trying to reconnect with that couple whose historical Victorian home I had tried to sell about two years ago.
Because the market was slow, they decided to rent to a large family instead and had moved to Arizona. This man, Ron, found the owners from my blogs about the home and contacted me through ActiveRain. I called the owners and the wife was so excited to find out that Ron was trying to reach them. (When I googled this, it was at the top of Google...not bad for a piece I did well over a year ago).
You have no idea how far-reaching your ActiveRain or Wordpress posts can be and at least in one case, the people who found who they were looking for, will use me as their buyer’s agent when they come back to buy in the next couple of years.
