When Blending In Is Not A Good Thing

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Blending InIf I may use thoughts from those who do hunting, when you are trying to get close to the prey you want to BLEND IN. Deer hunting they install these deer blinds deep in the forest, and with duck hunting wooden decoy ducks float along down in the water to attract the ducks to land. But in REAL ESTATE as an agent for a potential client,

Blending In Is Not A Good Thing

I have seen rants from agents that complained of getting dragged into rental deals or driving 50 miles cross town. Or a pop up REALTOR to open a door on a Sunday afternoon. Well, are they a cookie cutter AGENT? The same as all others?

In marketing a business or a product you have to know your USP, your Unique Selling Proposition, and stick to it. Range of area covered, specialty you help people with. Despite our good natured service providing souls, it is a business DISASTER to be all things to all people. Communicate clearly in all your forms WHO YOU ARE and WHAT YOU OFFER.

Don't blend in, STAND OUT for who you are!!!

Sometimes you dont want to stand out... like if you are hunting. :-)  But yes, you certainly want to stand out in your marketing to clients.

Selling Homes Changing Lives

Two years ago I got dragged clear across town for a rental because I chose to do so. Last Friday, that person called me and said they are ready to buy. Their financial situation changed and they now qualify for a 1/2 Million Dollar home. They remembered how thoughtful I was, how far I drove out of my way for them, and I didn't give up.

Two years later, I'm being rewarded. They are qualified. We are looking at homes and I expect to write up an offer ASAP!

Sometimes, you have to have trust and represent the ones who need it the most.

Somehow I don't think that duck blends in so well but the guy is hidden well. Another example of standing out from the crowd.

What can we do for you today?

Gary good day to you Sir, I must agree that blending in does not work all that well for me. I seem to stand out in a crowd for some reason not sure why but it sure does happen. Setting your goals sticking to them and working hard seems to be my forte in life in general. My goals are to take care of my clients to the best of my abitliy and to know when to do a referral when the listing is way out of my area. Have a blessed day talk to you soon
