Jill, I love to listen to some of the oldies! Today my sister and I asked my 16 yr old daughter "whats up with todays music?" if thats what they call it!
She is one talented woman.. and yes, she certainly died way before her time.
Joan - I wonder how many more times I'll have to say that in my lifetime.
Good evening Jill. I love the oldies too. Patsy Cline is terrific. Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow. Enjoy.
Love it, Jill. I remember listening to her albums growing up. Recently my husband and I attended a high school class reunion as my father in law's guests. It was his 70th class reunion. The entertainment was a sister act and they sang Patsy Cline songs. We really enjoyed it. It is amazing how many songs she produced in such a short time span.
Patsy Cline was an amazing talent and we did lose her much too early. "Crazy" is an all time favorite of mine. Hope you're still planning on being at the meet-up tomorrow.
Hi Jill, I have one of her CD's. A great choice of song. When she sings, you can hear the emotions in her voice..just beautiful
An astounding voice, Jill. Have a wonderful time tomorrow at your meet up. How about joining our Monday Melodies group? Check it out! http://activerain.com/groups/mondaymelodies
Jill, she was just so talented. I remember seeing a movie about how she got started, it was interesting.
Jill, thanks for the video. I truly enjoyed it. I heard this song before, but now have a name and history to it.
Thanks, Sheila. It was lovely to meet you. Best of luck with the house.
Hi Joann - She really did produce a lot of songs. Leann Rimes sounds an awful lot like her. I just listened to her rendition of Blue which was meant for Patsy Cline but she didn't have a chance to record it before she died.
Roger - It was great to meet you. Sheila is lucky to have such a selfless and generous friend.
Cindy - You can totally hear the emotion in her voice. Maybe, that's why I've been listening so much lately.
Thanks, Mona - We totally did. Who knew there was another Monday music group? I definitely will.
Will - I'd love to see that movie. I love to hear how anyone got started doing anything that they're doing.
Jon - Glad you like it. I'm just learning about her life also.
Hi Laura - Big hugs!
Gary - You're absolutely right. I just listened to Blue and her cover of Crazy. Wow!
Jill, a little Winchester trivia for you. Patsy lived around the corner from my grandmother. Her and my mom were great friends until she moved to Nashville. They stayed good friends, but Patsy was on the move all the time and my mom only saw here when she visited her mother. Patsy's husband at the time of her death is still living and visits the family from time to time. Also, in a strange twist of fate, my mother-in-law competed against Patsy in a singing contest right before Patsy made it big. Betty, my mother-in-law, came in second. Patsy's house is still around the corner from my grandmother's old house. It's a museum now. It's a small small world.
Oh, wow! That is a really interesting story. How crazy is that? Not only good friends with your grandmother but an acquaintance of your mother-in-law, as well. It makes them seem very real instead of just legends.
Jill - Patsy Cline had a very distinct sound that was easily recognizable ..... she was one of my Father-in-laws favourite singers .....
Jill - Patsy Cline was a very talented lady and I still enjoy her music. "Crazy" is one of my favorites!
Kathy - yes, very distinct.
Pam -Most people are familiar with that song if none of her others.
Music Mondays - very cute. I have always apprecited Patsy & her music contribution. Very sad that she left the earth so soon.
Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday. Glad to be back!
