Sharon Tara's post is a good reminder about the finer points of re-blogging. Read her post and learn how to help yourself as well as the original writer when you re-blog. By changing the title you get more exposure. If your blog has been re-blogged you can visit these re-blogs by clicking on the green reblog dots. Names will appear. click on that name and you will be taken to their post. You can then thank them if you wish.
Not A New Hampshire Home Stager? Changing My Title Is A Good Idea!
ActiveRain has a great feature called Re-blog. Reblogging allows you to share blogs written by others. It's pretty easy...at the top of each blog there is a green box (as long as the writer has chosen to allow reblogs).
Click on the green box and a window will open for you to write an introduction to the post. It's nice to mention the original writer with a link to their profile page or website.
Click the "Re-Blog It" button and it will post to your blog.
Here's a tip:
Once it's posted, immediately hit "Edit" and do two more things....
1. Change the title to add your key words.
Let's say you reblog my post titled "My Staging Tips To Sell Your Dover, NH Home".
You are not a "home stager" and you are not from "Dover, NH."
Change the title to "Staging Tips To Sell Your insert city and state here Home"
Adding your key words and/or location will improve your SEO and make the post more relevent to your readers.
Changing the title also benefits the original post. It prevents the search engines from seeing it as duplicate content.
2. Add the post to five of your groups.
The post will get much more exposure if it's included in groups.
After you have changed the title and chosen five groups, submit the post to save it.
Taking the time to EDIT when you Re-Blog is going to benefit you and the writer of the original post. Win - Win!!
One of my recent posts was Re-Blogged 12 times.
Only 1 of the Re-Bloggers changed my title to make it work for them.
It's not only ok to change my title....It's a good idea!
