Several years ago in the early days of SWS, I was standing in the shower (when the most brilliant epiphanies tend to occur), talking to myself about what it takes to inspire the people you know and the people you meet to trust you with their real estate business and referrals if they've never had the pleasure of actually working with you in a real estate-related context (and no, my shower self-talk hasn't changed much over the years).

A phrase occured to me... and it stuck... and here we are today.

That phrase was: "As long as you appear to be a Reasonably Competent Human Being to the people you know and the people you  meet, most of them will assume that you are competent to manage their real estate business even if they have nothing else to base that opinion on besides your appearance of RCHB'ness."

Or something like that.

I was pretty pleased with my epiphany and now the term RCHB is a central theme of the SWS Sphere of Influence philosophy!

But what does it mean to be an RCHB?

Is it something you naturally ARE, or something you can develop into?

Is it something you have to be All the Time, or only when wearing your REALTOR pin?

Can you ever let down your RCHB guard and be your naturally fun and lovable flaky self, or do you never get to indulge your flaky side again?

Do you have to be an RCHB even at home and with your closest friends?

And HOW do you project RCHB'ness to the world, especially to those in your world who have no need for a real estate agent right now, but you'd like them to think of you when they do?

Whew - that's a lot to cover! So, let's make like the good little RCHBs we are, register for the show right now and show up on time (early even!) to learn more!

Nice post and the webinar sounds good.  I do have to say though that I am glad you defined RCHB, I would never have guessed it.  I am not good at acronyms, never have been it is very foreign to me and so many others.  A side note: Years ago when I went to massage school and was in Kinesiology (the study of human movement physiological, mechanical and psychological mechanisms) the professor would use different acronyms for the muscles, like Tom, Dick and Harry for muscles in the calf.  I had to ask him to change and just say the correct words because I would learn them that way the the State test would not use the acronyms.  The younger generation in the class "got it" but I could not learn that way.  So thank you for defining that term and I have to admit I do not know what SWS is.  I looked it up but can only find the SWS Group a financial services holding company. Others seem to know but I don't.  Thank you so much for enlightening me.
