3370 is much needed and appreciated Joe.
Joe: Thanks so much for this post. Lots of very important information, here. Thanks so much for doing all the research, and for helping keep us all safe.
And John, I just read this from your re-blog, and tried to comment. The comment box was open below your post... but when I wrote my comment and hit "Submit" I was told your post would not accept the comment. I find that irritating when anyone does that... but it was your re-blog, and obviously, it is what you chose to do.
No biggie, John. I just don't agree. Have a great week... both of you!
Thanks Joe, all tips that I had not heard of and these could be valuable some day, its too bad that the folks who sell these to us dont share these tips.
Suggested....I have missed Google's free 411 service. This is awesome...thanks!!!!
Joe, thanks for the info. I put all of it in my phone and I'll definitely get the seriel number before I forget to check it. Good info.
Excellent tips Joe-the battery reserve information is absolutely priceless and I will use it immediately.
Told my daughters all your tips...thanks for the heads up!
This is all new info to me. I'll definitely print and carry.
I tried these, did you?
Tried 112, didn't work.
Tried *3370#, didn't work.
Tried *#06#, didn't work.
I wonder does it have to be a certin kind of phone or all phones? Mine hasn't died yet, but I'll try.
AWESOME POST JOE. THIS HAS POST HAS IMPLICATIONS FOR A;; CELLPHONE USERS
Joe, interesting facts about cell phones. I had my son's cell phone lost - and we called AT&T to disable the instrument so I knew there is a way to stop the thief using the phone.
As far as free-411 is concerned, I remember google also offered something similar - was it 1-800-GOOG-411? Well, just searched and found out that Google has shut down this service - so thanks for sharing FREE-411...
Thanks, Joe, for sharing this helpful information. I also suggested.
Have an outstanding week with your camera in hand.
We might need to verify the suggestions. There are internet questions about the list, including the following:
Press the keys *3370# to activate hidden battery power on your mobile phone.
This "tip" is totally bogus. You cannot activate hidden or reserve battery power by keying in *3370# or any other code sequence. The code '*3370#' can be used on some Nokia models to activate Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR). Ironically, since this code activates the best sound quality on the phone, the change will actually reduce the length of time that the battery will last before recharging is required – in practical terms the complete opposite of what the tip suggests.
Entering the code has no effect at all on brands of phone other than Nokia.
Knowing how to call emergency numbers is always a very useful tip, thanks for sharing!
Joe~ I'm a phone geek, I only knew two of the four, great information every cell phone owner needs to know! Awesome post, thanks!
Good afternoon Joe,
Another one everyone should add is ICE (in case of emergency) for whom you would like called.
This is from an earlier blog of Roy Kelly.
Make yourself a great day.
I didn't know any of these, other than if your phone is stolen or lost you can call your carrier and have service deactivated. Rendering the cell phone useless is justice if it's been stolen. Thanks for the tips. Have a great week,
