NFL Playoffs - Week 3 in review.

So, last week it looks as thought the AFC killed me in picks and I was on the money with the NFC. So, this week, being that there are only the 2 games, lets see how we can fair.

First, lets start with the AFC. San Diego goes to New England for the AFC Championship. Now, as strong as San Diego played last week and as much as I would love to see it happen, I do not think that the banged up Chargers can handle the New England Patriots. Moss did nothing last week, but Brady was sure on fire starting out 16 for 16 before he ever had an incompletion. So, with LT and Rivers both hurt, my pick sides with New England.

Next, let's go to the NFC where we will see Green Bay square off against New York Giants. Now as most of you know, I am a huge Big BLUE fan. With that being said, I think that the conditions favor the Green Bay Packers. I can see Brett Farve and Ryan Grant shredding the defense apart. But, I do not see the weather in Green Bay and with that said, I see New York winning for the chance to face New England and a rematch of the last game of the regular season.

But man oh man those were some good games! I really was pulling for the Colts but, hey, it happens.

Ken, that it does and they did not want it as bad as the BOLTS did.

Yeah, we were devastated at our house that the Colts lost.  My heart wasn't really in the Giants game until the second half, but I was happy with that outcome.

I agree with you on the Chargers-Patriots game.  I would love to see the Chargers win, but in reality, don't think it will happen.  I think the Packers-Giants game will be close.  I think if they have the weather they had this past weekend, it will work in Green Bay's favor.

Would love to see a rematch of the Packers and Pats.  Should be a good Sunday!!!

Go Packers!!!  Sorry, but I think Brett Favre is too much for the Giants to handle.  However, it's nice how Eli may be silencing some of the critics.

Danny - Nice picks. I am going to take the easy road this week and go with the Pats and the Pack.

I am really looking forward to the games. I hope that Green Bay wins it all!

Danny I'd LOVE  to see my Giants in the super bowl but if they do lose at least it's to Brett and the Packers not those dastardly cowboys

Kathy, I agree with you.

Martin, you can not have it your way this time. LOL

Rob, that he is.

Ryan, most do, lol.

Kathleen, I could live with that.

Hugh, that is something that I could live with.

Danny: Great Post..and of course I have an opinion coming or 2..LOL..It did not take me long to change the channel and leave my house after Peyton throws and interception at the 2 yard line..My goodness..who would have dreamed the Colts would be beat by a back-up  running back and a 2nd string QB WOW..so now I am hoping with all hope the Bolts win...in reality..NO CHANCE San Diego..season is over and Rivers is doubtful..I will take the Pats (and I so hope they would loose) they win big. As for the Giants vs Green Bay...I think the run for Farve may be just about over...IF they start out 14-0 like they did last week...they will not rebound with the Giants D playing as well as they are..one variable this Sunday well 2..1. Game is in Green Bay and 2. Temperature Forecast is for below zero wind-chill and highs about 6 degrees..I like the Giants by 10 and then on to the Super-Bowl..at least a Manning will be there. Just an FYI - look for Dungy to announce his retirement later this week - the writing is on the wall and he has slightly begun the move back to Tampa - If thats the case he will always be remembered as one of the classy coaches ever in the NFL.

Jeff, I have to agree that I think he will retire this year.

Danny,

I'm with you. Pats win no contest.

Giants continue their incredible run with another nail biter, this time over the Pack. A key big play on defense is the difference.

  Go Big Blue !

Danny....I think the last obstacle the Pats had were taken out by San Diego last week....these things generally happen when destiny is on your side!

Rick, destiny is but a chance in time.

Nice post Danny, I will stay with my early picks, I still like the Bolts defense win championships. Still shocked what little respect they get, the just went on the road and beat the defending SB champs. The pack is back. Brett will get it done; this is a good team, better then most thinks.

David, I will give the Chargers their due, they are playing well, but their attitude sucks.

01/16/2008 11:08 AM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

My picks last week did what they were supposed to do...so here we are for this week.

Of course in the AFC there is ONLY one team that I would pick...GO PATS!! I think they are too much for the Chargers and if Rivers does play...look for the Pats to rush him and get in his head. He'll implode!

I think Eli has gone as far as he's going to this post season. He and the Giants will meet their match in the NFC game against the Packers. I think the veteran Favre will lead his team to victory!

I'm looking forward to a Patriots/Packers Superbowl...all "P's"

Cris, do not count out the Big BLUE just yet.

01/16/2008 09:03 PM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

Well, I just posted whose going to the Super Bowl and your Big Blue is definitely in there! It was an interesting game all the way thru and especially at the end! This was more like freezeball than football

Now, the Pats and Giants get to meet for the third time...it shall be an interesting game!

Danny, I believe too. Did I call this one or what? Nail biter with a key play on defense making the difference. What a game!

01/20/2008 09:55 PM by Jim Albano (Prudential Damiano Realty)

Jim, this was a great game. it was funny as I called both interceptions.
