(Day Two of My Personal Blogging Challenge)

When I moved to Tucson in January 2011, I was very lucky. I had an established circle of friends who made the transition to a new town much easier.

As I settled in and got into my routine, I got to know a couple a little more and their precious angel named Lucas. What an amazing little man he is!

Lucas has Cerebral Palsey and is one of the most blessed little boys I've ever met because he has amazing parents, Steve and Denise. I know that having a special needs child is a tough road - therapy, doctors, special arrangements for babysitters to have a very rare night out...the list is endless.  What Steve and Denise have done continues to blow me away.

Last year, they established a chapter of myTeam Triumph here in Tucson. Never heard of it?

My better half, Kent, and I were invited to an evening with Mr. Hoyt last year in Phoenix where the above video was shown. Hearing him speak - you could see the love he has for his son. He lights up when asked about Rick. It's the same way our friend Steve lights up when you ask him about Lucas. He is in awe of his son...and it usually makes me tear up when I think of it.

Among my many blessings over the last couple of years, I count having Steve and Denise as my friends as being right up there at the top of the list. I've learned so much about CP through them and through Lucas. It has definitely opened my eyes.

Emmy, Some people show us how things can be, and make us realize just how easy our own lives really are.

I am humbled by parents with special needs children.  They rise above and beyond what most of us can imagine.  This is a great post.

You should have posted it in the Thankful Thursday group!  I could have featured it there!
