In 2012, the rules for valid voter ID in Va. changed. Anyone who does not present a valid voter ID will no longer be allowed to vote a “regular” ballot by signing a sworn statement that he is the named registered voter. The voter without identification will be offered a provisional ballot. The voter must provide one of the required forms of identification within 3 calendar days of the election. The voter may submit a copy of one of the required forms of identification to the electoral board in person, by fax, email, or through the USPS
