If you've been looking for an investors association in Central Iowa, you may have been looking for a while and not come up with much.   That's why we started a group called Two Rivers REIA, and details can be found at http://tworiversreia.org/

The group meets twice per month, currently.   The goal is to provide education, networking among like-minded investors, and a forum for ideas to help prevent investors from making costly errors.   We all have to learn something through the school of hard knocks, but we DON'T have to learn everything that way.  Sometimes, you can profit from learning from the mistakes of others!

Come and check us out.  Until we have 5 people in regular attendance (3 meetings in a row), the dues and entrance fee is being waived.  We're almost there as we've ranged from 3-9 in meetings thus far.

One good idea will be worth the cost of annual dues, so why not put the next meeting on your calendar, right now!

Hi Andrew ... I like your website.  Do you want other Realtors to attend these meeting or are they for only investors?

Dear Robb,

Sure!  Vendor dues are $199/year, and until that fee is paid, we ask vendors to refrain from actively promoting their business (i.e. passing out cards, borrowing the list of investors who attend, etc.) but instead just to participate as an interested party.   You would agree that this is fair, right?  Feel free to attend as a guest.

If you would speak, however, I am currently offering a credit which can be applied to dues.  This applies to all vendors who have something to share of interest to various types of Real Estate Investors -- flippers, buy and hold, short sale/pre-foreclosure, TIC investors, etc.

Contact me if you are interested in presenting.  We'll see if we can't work something out!   Next meeting is Saturday at 8:00AM.    710-1955 for more info.

Meeting attendance has been averaging over 10 for a while now, so we're gaining momentum.  One of the wonderful benefits that comes from networking with like-minded peers is that you actually can shorten your learning curve as an investor.   Our new Saturday meeting location has been a very positive change -- very conducive to interaction as well as at great room for presentations by our guests.

Wouldn't it be nice to not have to personally make every mistake along the path toward success as an investor?   What if you could network with others who have already been there, done that, tried that, been effective with this technique, not effective with that one, etc.  Some of those who attend have already spent the $400 at that seminar you're thinking of attending, and they may have come away with the feeling like it was the best investment they have made in a while, or maybe not.   But through association and active networking you can pick up a few ideas and at not nearly the cost!

For example, for $400, you can attend our Two Rivers REIA meetings for ... life!   That's right.  Lifetime memberships are $350!   That's 24 meetings a year for as long as you live.  Is there some risk that we might not stay in existance that long?  Sure.  But we've had 12 meetings and if you're concerned about that risk, then just join for a quarter for $20/person, or $75/year for a couple (two business partners count as one member for annual dues).  If you're a vendor, we're going to charge you $199 for the privilege of attending, but you may be able to speak at a meeting and will receive a $50 credit off your dues if you do.  The guest fee is $10 (all fees are designed to help defer our costs -- this is a not-for-profit association) and if you don't get 5 times that value from attending a meeting, then you're just not listening fast enough!

Visit our website - http://TwoRiversREIA.org for more information.   Then come visit and I think you'll find the investment well worth it.   If you attend two meetings in a row and pay the $10, we'll count this as payment of your quarterly dues -- talk about a bargain!   That's 6 meetings for the price of 2!

Why are we doing this?  Because we want to help RE Investors avoid missteps; to shorten the learning curve; to put you on the track toward success without having to personally stub your toe on every mistake that can be made.  And there are literally hundreds of mistakes that RE investors can make.   We're here not so much to ensure success as to help prevent failure!

Successful, well-informed investors, act like successful, well-informed investors and they become successful from knowing their business and it's demanding requirements.   Strategic planning, coupled with excellent execution will go a long way toward helping you achieve your goals.

Already an experienced RE investor?  It is my fervent belief that by attending our Two Rivers REIA meetings you will not only be able to share ideas with others, which may help others to succeed more quickly, to avoid a pitfall, or to avoid disasterous decisions, but you will gain the benefits that come from giving to others.  What better way to sleep well at night than to give of yourself to help another, perhaps younger or less-experienced person, succeed?    If you're a seasoned veteran, you may have something to share and we'd most likely like to listen.  Contact Andrew Lietzow via email or voice and let's talk about what you might be able to share or present to the group.
