The collage photo of 7 photos only counts as 1 photo. I uploaded it in MRIS just to be sure. So if you belong to a MLS that only allows 7 photos ( which some still do), you can add more photos to your listings by using collage photos. Of course on your main photos you'll want to use a full size photo. But for a kitchen for example, you may want to create a collage like shown here. Several photo editing sites these days allow you to do this, then the collage uploads to the MLS as 1 photo.

You can make collage with as little as 2 photos, or as many as 16, but using more than 7 usually makes the photos too small. This is a rental listing I have in Regency at Dominion Valley in Haymarket VA. I could easily use 6 collage photos similar to this one for this listing. MRIS allows us 30. So if I subtract 6, that's 24 standard photos, then 6 collage photos with 7 photos each = 42 photos. 42 + 24 = 66 photos for this listing if I really needed that many.

Wonderful tip. What program are you using for your collages?

Problem with photo collages in our MLS is the overall photo size is small so buyers may not be able to see much in the photo.

I like the idea. 7 photos is probably too many for our MLS but I can see the benefit in 2 -3 for each picture. I'll have to experiment with it a bit. Thanks for this tip.

#1- Hi Margaret, I used www.picmonkey.com to create this collage. You can also edit your photos using picmonkey, and change the background.

#2- Hi Cindy, That's true sometimes, but you can make 2 photo, or 4 photo collages that don't look too small. Also, I chose " blog friendly" which is ok for blogs, email, and probaly flyers, but the quaity gets distorted when uploading to MLS. I'm going to do another test without choosing" blog friendly" and compare quality.

#3- Hi Ken, They do have a 2, 3 , and 4 pic format. It's worth experimenting wth. Just click on " create a collage" and you can check them out on picmonkey.com.

Very nicely done, Jeff.  I need to make some collages, but I hate that kind of putzy work.  I'd rather make the birdhouses, and let someone else do the "computer" work.

#6- Thanks Ron! Yes, technology can be very time consuming, but seems like were stuck with a lot of it.
