Some of you may know, I'm a sports fan. I really enjoy watching the Olympics and attending live sporting events.
It's great to see some of the most talented athletes across the world compete!
For many reasons, I am especially proud of Gold Medal winner, Gabby Douglas.
Yesterday, Gabby made history; she became the first African American to win the Gymnastics all around Gold Medal.
As an African American woman, I'm excited and proud of not only her accomplishments, but what this means for young African American girls that will follow in her footsteps. There is also no question that little girls and children from every ethnicity across the world were given inspiration to go for the GOLD!
It's not only her accomplishments that make me proud, but her humility that makes for even more excitement. She responded to the reporter, "I give all the glory to God." Gabby is very clear that it was by God's power that she performed so well and in turn received the gold medal. She is clear and she wants to world to be clear as well.
This history making event is about so much more than the Olympics. It reminds us that we must work hard for the gold, perform for the gold, and then be prepared to receive the gold....all while keeping in mind that the Gold came from and belongs to God.
Congrats Gabby! You've got a standing ovation from me. You've inspired us all to go for the GOLD!!!
Let's go-ld!!!
Thank you & God Bless!
To God Be the Glory!!!
