2008 Real Estate TrendsHome owners have you been wondering what is IN for housing trends for 2008?

Glamour is returning but only if it's subtle and with exotic veneers according to lead design consultant Davis Remignanti.

Oversized furniture will be replaced with scaled down versions that are more in proportion to houses.

  • A very hot trend is large scale patterns in fabrics and floor and wall coverings.

Black and white is in with  accent colors for a chic look.

Accent colors this year are "spice-inflected."  These colors are:

  • carnelian
  • flax
  • russet
  • acid green
  • blue is making a strong comeback

Reflective materials like chrome, mirrors and mercury glass for accent pieces are a must for 2008.

Vintage will be mixed when combining old with new.

Zen, your most welcome. Hope it helps.

Kristina, I love trends. Don't always go with them but it's nice to know what's in and then sculpt it to your own tastes.

Roberta, it seems that soft icy blue to muted cerulean were the topic of color.

Apparently from what I read, due to the Olympics in China, we will see a lot of Asian influence in decor where we will find bright reds, magenta's, purples, pumpkin oranges, peacock, turquiise, jade greens and royal blues used as main colors and accent colors.
