Carmel by the sea

With it's cobble stone streets and ivy adorned cottage walls, hidden courtyards and sandy beach, Carmel By The Sea entices visitors from all over the world.  This picturesque little village was once a haven for artists and still has a rich artistic presence.

The whitest sand on the beach.  The most beautiful view of the sea.  The most charming atmosphere.  The friendliest folks.

That's my memory of Carmel By The Sea.

I actually can't think of anyplace more beautiful than Carmel by the Sea, California.  You are lucky to live there Leslie, I so wish that I could afford it-I loved the sunset I saw on that beach.

Looks like a great place to live or visit. I recall that Clint Eastwood was once its mayor.

You can't get any prettier than that, I guess, unless you are in some charming village in Europe!

Carmel is one of the great coastal places on the California coast.  I visit there often.  Everyone who is planning a trip down the California coast should make this a "must stop and see" and spend an afternoon there.

Yes, you are correct, Clint Eastwood was the Mayor of Carmel and he lives there today.  Carmel is a charming place, and has so many unique offerings....when one lives here all there lives, we take it all for granted.  Since my business revolves around finding all of the features and benefits of this beautiful Peninsula, I have been able to fall in love with it all over again.  As Richie said, there are some places that just caress your for being there..Cape Cod, Nantucket...and Carmel is also on that list.  Come visit and give me a call when you are here.

Hi Leslie ~ I was lucky enough to be born and raised in Carmel, and know it's many beautiful spots well.  Walking my dog on Carmel Beach was a daily activity -- but I reached it a different way than your post (secret path!).   I hope that everyone reading your post has an opportunity to visit Carmel someday.

This is a very nice intro to Carmel.  The links are especially valuable and I can personally vouch for the La Playa - it's a great hotel.

Yes, Carmel is a magical town.  I was going to tell you about Maureen who was lucky enough to grow up there, but I see she already did in #16.
