How Do Your Clients Find You?
One of the questions we love to ask new or prospective clients is, "How did you find us?" As a home stager in Portland Oregon, I've found that knowing how people hear about your company or find you online is helpful for future marketing planning.
When I ask this question of new callers on the phone, we hear a variety of answers ....
Thanks, AR! The value of your AR membership can't be overestimated! Having an AR Outside Blog to your website is a great way for people to learn more about you and how you can help them with their real estate needs.
If this is the case, be sure to follow up with, "what search term did you use -- do you remember?" because that's good info for you to know for future blog posts and marketing materials. Remember what you learned at AR University about using keywords and links in your posts?
"Referral from a friend/neighbor/work colleague" -- in this case, ask them the person's name so that you can then follow up with a "thank you" to that person for the referral. The more people who know about the service you can offer them, the better.
This is a great way to get referrals because Angie's List members write reviews on local businesses, grading them on professionalism, pricing, quality of work, punctuality, etc. If you're not on Angie's List now as a service provider, ask a satisfied member to submit your name and contact details for your category (Realtor, home stager, home inspector, mortgage lender, etc) -- they have hundreds of categories. As an Angie's List service provider, there is no cost to you to be included in their directory.
"I picked up your card at ...." This happens to Portland home stagers frequently, because we often leave a business card in a staged property. Prospects might also find your card at a trade show, business networking event, or other similar places.
