There are so many reasons out of which you may consider selling your house. Everyone is aware of the current real estate market and it is undoubtedly the all-time low period for real estate. For the house owners who are not receiving calls for their house, placing “For Sale” sign in their yard is a great idea. These signs are quite affective in generating calls from potential buyers according to the research data. The question is that whether you would like to keep it secret that you are selling your house or not. This article will discuss some important tips for placing a new “For Sale” sign in your yard and allow buyers to call you directly.

What are the different types of “For Sale” signs?

Do you live in a planned community or does your house falls under a homeowner association? Sometimes House Owner Associations (HOA) has some specific regulations about the type of For Sale board that you can place in your yard or the font size of the board etc. It is best to read the HOA regulations before placing a board in your yard.

House Owner For Sale Signs: If you are planning to sell your house all by yourself then it is not wise to spend lot of money on these signs. You can get a metal or plastic For Sale board from the nearest hardware store. These boards can be easily fixed with stakes and wires in your yard.

Real Estate Agent For Sale Signs: Generally agents use two types of For Sale signs including small signs with stakes that can be easily pounded in the ground and large panels hung along with a sign post.

What should be the content on For Sale board?

For Sale boards placed by real estate agent are meant to market the agency and sell the house at the same time. There is a lot of information placed over these boards and you can find all that information below.

•Brokerage Firm Name

•Official Phone Number

•Logo of the Company

•Brokerage Address and website

This is the information found on most of the common For Sale signs but some agents even put additional information on these boards. This information may include Virtual Tour, any price reduction, and benefits of purchasing the house.

Where to place For Sale signs?

The For Sale sign should be easily visible from the street. Keep one thing in mind that generally these signs are blocked by car and they are unable to serve their purpose. Follow these tips for installing For Sale sign:

•For corner house, it is best to place one sign on every single street so that anyone can easily get to the property.

•You should install the For Sale board near the sidewalks and street so that it is easily visible and do not hinder the curb appeal of your yard.

•If your house is out-of-the-way then it is best to ask your neighbors living near to street to place a board pointing towards your house.

Sometimes when your house takes more time than usual, you may end up in changing your listing agent. If this is the case, make sure to get rid of the For Sale sign placed by your previous agent. The last thing that you would like to happen is to have your buyer calling the previous agent. If the agent is slow in removing it then you can remove it all by yourself. In most of the cases, For Sale signs help people in landing potential buyers soon enough and I hope the same for you as well.

There are some sellers who do not like a For Sale sign and there are home owner associations that do not allow signs but if it is allwed it is a good way of getting buyers from those who drive by as well as when neighbors tell their friends who might be looking.
