What is a day like in Sun City Grand in Surprise Arizona? Here is some information and opinions by residents:
Sun City Grand was started in 1997 by Del Webb and was completed in 2004.
Sun City Grand is known as the ” Crown Jewel” of all the Del Webb retirement communities in the U.S. because of its amenities and grandeur. The golf car is the preferred mode of transportation. There are four golf courses and two recreation centers, all done in a very “The Grand” style.
The Sedona and Cimarron recreation centers are the “hubs” of Sun City Grand. Coffee shops, sandwich shop, library, conference rooms, indoor and outdoor pools are just some of the things to do…again, all done in a Grand style. Many other clubs abound, Bridge, Bocce etc.
I asked my client, David Saenz if I could interview him. He was generous with his time to answer a few questions:
1. Why did you choose Arizona to retire in? “I chose it because of the climate and geography.”
2. What line of work were you in? “I was a School Teacher and a Branch Banker.”
3.Are you married? “No”
4.Are you a “Snowbird?” “No”
5.What made you choose Sun City Grand to retire in? “Sun City Grand is so very beautiful and upscale.”
6.How long did it take for you to choose you community and home? “It took one day to choose the community and 3 days to find my home.”
7.Are you involved in the activities in Sun City Grand and what are they? “I am not involved at this time.”
8.Do you have animals? “Yes, a dog.”
9.What is a typical day when you are here? “I am busy with my friends.”
10. What is the age group of most of your friends here? “They are between 50 – 75 years young.”
11. Do you have children? “Yes”
12. What do they think of you living here? “They love it.”
13. Is there anything you would change in Sun City Grand? “No”
14. Is this what you thought retirement would be like when you were in your 40’s? “No way, it is so much better. There are so many things to do. I never thought I would be able to retire in such a beautiful place, Sun City Grand in Arizona!”
