When I first started this blogging gig part of my life back around 2007 sometime, one of my earlier posts probably with no photograph in the post discussed REALTOR business cards with outdated photos. Some, if you look around the industry can be up to 20 years old and not even LOOK like the current person.

That will throw you for a loop when you meet them after seeing their ad in the paper or online. But I have found the VAST MAJORITY of agents do carry this HUGE ego with them about self for some reason. Maybe it is the competitive nature of the business but it must be true cause hardly ANY other profession I know puts photos of themselves on the business cards. Agents who use a glamor shot, or worse, a picture that is 20 or 30 years old, are making a mistake.  The purpose of those pictures is to make it possible for people to recognize us when we show up.

Gary - thanks for sharing this hilarious video with us! I don't know what's funnier - the Realtor photos or Ellen's commentary! Had me LMAO though! Every two years I update my photo because the last thing I want is for my client to say, "You look nothing like your photo" - not a good thing! Have a great week!

Thanks for the great video.  How true it is.  You sometimes get the drivers license look for someone and can't tell if that is them or not.  Sometimes the smallest things are the ones that are forgotten but theyare the most important ones.

Oh my goodness, Gary!  I needed a good laugh to get this week rolling, and this blog gave me several!  It is so true, we expect folks to trust us with one of the most important investments of their lives, but we apparently don't filter that fact adequately when we do some of our marketing:-) 

I must admit my profile pictre is about 6 years old.  Funny thing though, I look more like that picture now, than I did then.  And pictures I have taken recently don't look anything like me. . .At least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it:-)
