Kentlands Flower Photographs Are Good For Your Imagination

Take Care When Editing Marketing Photographs

Those of us in real estate are sometimes surprised to see that the property does not look like the photographs in the marketing materials.  Almost every photograph can be improved by editing.  All of us need to be careful not to go beyond the editing that will just make it a better photograph.  Marketing photographs should show the property in the best possible light.

Save the extreme editing for your personal photographs that are simply for personal pleasure.  I have fun with some of my flower photographs and will share a few from our Imagination series.  These are not the actual colors of the flowers.

Have a great week with your camera in hand.  And, be sure to edit every photograph.

Hi Roy,

If a home is a fixer upper, then list it this way. Add a front shot and that's it. Then leave the Fixer upper comment to the buyers to contemplate their options for the home.

Have a great day at the Kentlands.

Best, Clint McKie

Almost all photographs are good for my imagination. I love pictures and it doesn't matter to me what they are taken of. A cup, building, flower, animals, architecture or boots... it is all good. I love to see the creativity of the photographer and to learn from what they are doing, Thank you for always sharing your creativity with us. I appreciate you!

Great advice and I often wonder what people are thinking - there has to be some truth in advertising. Tweaking a photo beyond recognition is not smart. Enhancing is good, altering - not so much. Unless of course, as you point out, it's done for personal enjoyment and personal photos. Love the blue Daisy.

Roy,

I am trying to learn how to use the picture editors. Flowers are always good subject and pictures one can practice with.

Your feedback is much appreciated.

Bob:  Practice on flowers is a good idea because you can learn how to use photo editing.  I used iPiccy.com to edit the photographs in this blog.  The service is free and easy to use.

Photography for real estate is serious business but flowers are fun.

However, you do not get many re-blogs or featured posts with flower blogs.

Good morning, Roy -- I hit the suggest button! Excellent point about not over-editing marketing photos to the point of being deceptive. And as usual, it's a pleasure to view your wonderful photography!

It is always good to hear from you.  Take your marketing photographs seriously and edit every one of them before adding them to your listings or internet sites.

Take time to enjoy your personal photography that has no purpose other than pleasure.

Roy - you make an excellent point that while it's okay to enhance the colors a little bit, you never want to deceive buyers using editing programs. The best thing you can do is take great photos in the first place!
