19 Comments on Buying a Cottage - No CNN in the AM!
I'm going to make sure that the home I go to has 300 channels of television so that I won't have to learn how to play cards Valerie.
Malcolm: I will probably wheel my chair over to the TV and turn it off because I won't be able to hear it anyway.
It seems when people buy or go to a getaway place they are so plugged in that they can't getaway.
Great picture! I kinda of like getting away from cable once in a while but I do need my internet. LOL.
Rob.
So true. BTW I noticed this AM that Soledad is away for the week so I could be at a cottage and not miss her.
Adrian:
I am saving the horrors of the internet for the next post. Stay tuned!!!! (or maybe I should say - stay connected)
I hate the news, it's too depressing for me, but I can't live without TV...........not sure why, I never watch it, but I turn it on for noise and an occasional baseball game or DWTS episode...........okay, all of the episodes of DWTS.
Roger: Dancing with the Stars? Really? Okay. I must admit that I like to see what talent those people have that the professional dancers can draw out. Sometimes I am flabbergasted.
I turned off my expanded cable years ago. No one has missed it! Imagine that.
Kathryn: We went in the opposite direction and finally got some of the stations like the Food Network. Of course now we have 100s that we don't watch.
Hell yeah, you think I watch important stuff? You've known me long enough #50.............LOL. DWTS is a favorite of mine and Mickey's.
"and then you will be forced to talk to your family and guests" LOL!
Great advice Valerie!
Roger: The show must be on Thursdays. Right?
Patty: Sometimes you just want to zone to the TV but really the cottage should be a place for lots of talk and for a good book.
No, it's on Monday nights, but we discuss it every Thursday when I am there. We always watched it together when I lived with her, so the tradition continues of watching it...........just seperately now.
Well there is so much.. to mention here.
No more analogue signals, the old antennas won't work now.
You gave to have a converter box to 'see' stuff.
But don't fret, it'll all be on your cell phone soon.
I have a friend who hears and answers his cell phone through his hearing aide.
I'm expecting to soon hear of people watching TV or videos projected onto their glasses.
The military call it HUD, Heads Up Display.
So soon we'll all be megaG networked, Hi Deff, HUD, GPS and hands free anywhere we are.
.....almost like being there.
Roger:
So many of my friends have to watch soap operas to have something to discuss with their mothers. Count yourself lucky that you have DWTS!
Robert: This antenna is in your province - near Ottawa but not near enough. The owners did get the converter box so convert so there are at least some stations being received. BTW (and you will laugh) there is no tower for cell phone reception and no cable for television. The location is really a way to get away from it all!!!! I won't be sitting on the dock watching movies on my sunglasses for a long long time.
The purpose of our getting away into the wilderness is to leave all that behind. Except for the transistor radio if the Vikings are playing while we are away!
