4 Step Strategy for Pinterest Success

I tried pinterest earlier this year.  I had a great time pinning and finding other sites to visit.  Then I was told that I need to pin pictures that are linked to my blogs. So I stopped pining and began blogging in earnest. The RealSupport Real Estate Virtual Assistants Team offer a good strategy for anyone who is thinking of participating in pinterest.

Whether you are already on Pinterest or have just heard the chatter, there is no doubt that this is one of the most fun and addicting social media sites out there. What could be better than looking at statuses and photos of friends for hours on Facebook? How about a never ending visual representation of all of your favorite things all in one place? Trust me, it’s not hard to get lost for an hour or two in a black hole of delicious-looking recipes or dream homes or your favorite fashion ensembles. Beyond all that, this blossoming social network is a great way to give your client’s a taste of what you’re all about. So, from your real estate virtual assistants, here are four easy ways to make the most of your Pinterest account!

Caption it Up! When posting on your various Pinterest boards, it’s important to make your captions detailed and meaningful. For example, if you find a picture of a house you really love, don’t just write “love!” but try to make it descriptive and point out specific touches that you enjoy. This shows people that you not only have interests, but you are knowledgeable about them and have a genuine understanding of them.

Don’t Forget to Link: This is where Pinterest for personal use and Pinterest for business purposes differ. Pinterest is used as a means to drive traffic back to your blog or website – so any time you pin something on your boards you always need to provide a link back to the full story. If you’re going to be pinning your blogs or other custom copywriting content, always include an image so it’s easily sharable on Pinterest.

Know your Message: Pinterest is all about defining your niche. Whether it’s food, clothing, architecture or real estate, establishing your forte is key in finding success. First ask yourself what you are known for. Do you always have the scoop on the latest restaurant openings and community events? Are you always on top of the local sporting news? Do you have an awesome eye for great architecture?

Be Social: While it may not seem as involved as Facebook and Twitter, Pinterest is just as much of a social network as any. That means it is 100% necessary to get to know your Pinterest community by commenting, liking and sharing other people’s posts.  It’s just like trying to get more “likes” on Facebook: if you don’t like them, they won’t like you. You have to give to get and so on and so forth. When someone on Pinterest sees that you followed them or repinned some of their posts, it’s a huge confidence booster. They will think “wow, they like my stuff! I want to see what they have to say.”

So how do you use Pinterest? I am sure you have heard all the hubbub by now, and as your real estate virtual assistants, we want to make sure your presence is known on all the best social net platforms. If you have any questions on how to get your page up and running, feel free to contact us anytime. We’ve seen a lot of success with our Pinterest setups and would love to help you achieve the same.

Happy Pinning!
