Creating Mission & Vision Statements- Sounds simple right?

Whether we are speaking on the boiling point principle, or the special birthday phone call, small tasks make a huge difference.

Mission Statement: Do you have one? It is a long term perspective way of life for business and personal dealings. It is your roadmap for full success in all your areas of your life. 

Sounds simple doesn't it? Well have you ever written one? I feel as though I have written and rewritten my short mission statement numerous times, and just when I have thought I have been there and ready to publish it I have torn it up.

Then there is the secondary concept of the vision statement. This breaks the mission statement down even farther, and defines the specifics as to how the mission is accomplished. 

Vision Statement- Your ideas for the future of yourself or organization, and a plan written out to get there. Forecasting that by enacting certain measures as to where your company will be.

As Defined: 

A mission statement is a brief description of a company's fundamental purpose. It answers the question, "Why do we exist?"

The mission statement articulates the company's purpose both for those in the organization and for the public.

The difference between a mission statement and a vision statement is that a mission statement focuses on a company’s present state while a vision statement focuses on a company’s futur

As Defined:

A vision statement is sometimes called a picture of your company in the future but it’s so much more than that. Your vision statement is your inspiration, the framework for all your strategic planning.

A vision statement may apply to an entire company or to a single division of that company. Whether for all or part of an organization, the vision statement answers the question, "Where do we want to go?"
