You might first be asking what is a Discount Broker?  These are real estate brokers or agents that will give you large discounts or breaks for their services.  There are thousands of different variations of a discount broker but that is the basic concept. 

Now let me ask you a couple of questions.  Would you go to a discount Doctor or Lawyer?  No! Because you want the best health care and you want to win your lawsuit.  So why would you look at using a discount Real Estate Agent or Broker?

I think that the biggest reason why is because you don't consider a real estate agent as a professional in the same way you think of a doctor.  Well I am here to say that you are WRONG to a point.  I will agree that some agents are not professionals.  I will also say that I have met some doctors and lawyers that are not professionals also.  You cannot judge a professional by the number of years they went to "school."  I put school in quotes because I believe a real professional never stops learning.  Lets look at professional athletes.  They are always practicing day after day on what will make them a better athlete.  Even in the off-season they practice.  Sometimes you see an athlete come back from the off-season better than before.

Final Thoughts:  The point I am trying to make is to look at the skills of the agent or broker you are thinking about working with.  Look past the fancy cloths, nice car, or great smile and ask yourself is he or she a professional or not.  The more you talk to that agent the more ideas he should have on how to market and sell your home for top dollar.  Let's all be honest with ourselves for a moment.  If we knew that someone could sell our home faster and for more money, wouldn't we all pay him or her more?  Of course we would!  That is a real professional.
