Local R. E. Market Compared to a Maserati - Market Stats -

Having been energized by reading a post about test driving a Maserati and other exotic high performance cars, I found my mind bouncing between real estate, then Lamborghinis, then real estate, then Astin Martins..... It's hard to stay on track. With both of these thoughts fighting for mind share, maybe I can draw some comparisons.
THE SOUND OF EXCITEMENT:
- The Maserati - The rich sound of the engine revving starts the excitement.
- Local Real Estate - The sounds about real estate are creating excitement too. The national and local press, as well as my statistics, are indicating that we've HIT THE BOTTOM of the market and things are revving up.
THE ACCELERATION:
- The Exotic sports cars: You're pushed back in your seat and almost instantaneously you are moving at or over the speed limit.
- Local Real Estate: with a few sputters and coughs, things are starting to move.... but accelerating slowly.... except for price.
AVAILABILITY:
- The Exotic Sports Car - You don't see many of them on the road, but when you do, you take notice.
- Local Real Estate - You don't see many new listings right now, but when you do, buyers take notice and sleek (read that "well prepared") homes with appropriate sticker home prices (it is hard to stay on track) are getting multiple offers.
