Otis Elementary School supply list for fifth grade

It’s time for our children to go back to school. School will begin on August 27 for schools in the Alameda Unified School District.  That means that there are 3 weeks of summer left.  Where did summer go?



For parent whose children attend Otis Elementary the school supply list for fifth grader is out. All Students should have a standard size backpack - large enough to hold folders 81/2 X 11” with their name inside.  Please no rolling backpacks, binders or pencil boxes.

5 #2 pencils
Pink Pearl type eraser
1 set colored pencils
Dry erase markers
3 large book covers
1 ruler with inches and centimeters
1 pkg 3-hole punched binder paper
5 folders with pockets
1 pair scissors
1 flash drive - minimum 128 megabytes
1 box tissues
To be kept at home:
   1 dictionary
   1 each - ruler, protractor, and compass

The things they have to take to school now.  When my daughter was in school, I don't remember the school give out list of supplies.

Evelyn good list for the kids. We are helping our 5 grandkids with cash to get their ever growing must have for school lists. It's what long distance Mac Man and Nana do:)

When I look at the list and I think what we had to supply for our daughter, I am amazed at how much the kids have to take to school.  I think we supplies notebooks, pencils and colored pencils and crayons and that was it.  It shows that the schools are struggling.
