s each day. Splash week is designed as a precursor to swim lessons and a reminder of water safety. At the end of the four day course on August 18, is a special water safety day. The kids learn about life jackets, beach safety, pool safety, and what to do in an emergency situation. Splash days and water safety days are free to the public for children ages 4-7.

Hi Al, great localism post for family with young children. The children will have fun learn swimming for free before they go back to school.

Free swimming is really neat program for the YMCA to put on . I have always believed that swimming is a life skill. I almost drown when I was about 3 years old but my savvy older cousin pulled me off the bottom of the pool. I learned to swim shortly after that event.
