Here's another great postcard photo shared by James Whitlow, who collects post cards.

This house is still in Bald Knob AR on Center Street.  Our last blog was about houses on the same street but they were not mansions like this one.  James thinks that the pictures were all taken on the same day by the same photographer because of their similarity in looks and the dates of postage.

The postmark is 1909. Refer back to the other blog for pictures of the houses nearby. The two links below also have pictures of this lovely house and one almost like it in Searcy AR which is now history.

Oooh I love seeing these from you.  It makes your mind wander to who lived there, what it was like, what was on the kitchen table and so on.

Kerrie, you are so right.  That old house looks absolutely fabulous in this picture.

Isn't it amazing how you can find some of the neatest treasures in some of the most unlikely places.  Bald Knob truely has a treasure with some of it's older buildings.  They are beautiful!  This was is most pleasant.  Can't you smell the homemade bread and see the ladies stopping by in their Sunday hats and little girls running and jumping across the porch in their aprons while being chased by little boys with frogs.

That was a GREAT picture Ms. Anita...It was so clear...beautiful...when we first moved to this area we used to go down some of the streets in Bald Knob with older houses and just enjoy.  They hold so much history.  Love them all.

I have been missing some wonderful photos...I'm going to need a day to go back and catch up...I'll have to do it another time though...Luke just preparemed me an omlet (his latest project) and I going to enjoy...late guys

Debbie, the pictures on Center Street were such a good addition to this blog.  James Whitlow just discovered us and has contributed some wonderful photos.  He also does the best close-ups of the pictures that I have ever seen.  He may have come aboard while you were in the computer-crash phase.  If so, be sure to go back and see his contributions.

Hi Barbara ~

Now that's what I call a mansion!  The postcard images are wonderful and I'll bet there is so much history behind them.  Cool and thanks for sharing!

What? No modern pictures? I accept your challenge!

This is the Campbell-Chrisp House and it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. According to the Register, it was built in 1899. It still stands today:

...and now I see that Barbara linked to some other pictures of the house. Oh well, enjoy the Google Maps image :)
