Wouldn't It Be Nice If......

annapolis waterfront

  • You called a number and got a live person who would direct you to the right department instead of having to listen to 5 or 6 choices all the way through and hope you remember the right one.
  • You went to a restaurant of any size and the server was always happy and glad you were there instead of making you feel you were an inconvenience.
  • You checked out at any department store and they treated you like they do at Nordstrom.
  • Everyone left their cell phones in the car when they go out to eat and actually had conversations.
  • A repairman gave an exact time (give or take 15 minutes) that they would be there instead of a 5 hour window.
  • When drivers saw a yellow light they would slow down to stop instead of speed up to go through.
  • The driver behind you did not lay on the horn the second the light turned green.
  • The new grill cover you just bought stayed black instead of immediately fading in the sun.
  • All our clothes, furnishings and belongings were made in America.
  • Saying Please and Thank You was a given instead of an after thought.
  • People in elevators actually said hello to you instead of hiding in their phones.
  • All Buyers were glad you were there to help them through the maze of real estate.
  • All Sellers followed your advice becuase they knew you knew what you were doing

Wouldn't It Be Nice If......

Wake up Martha!! Ahh there you are. Welcome back to the real world.

Well one can dream can't they??

shout it from the roof tops sister.  We do not have V/M at our office.  During business hours you get a friendly voice and we take hand written messages AND make sure they are delivered.  We also cover for one another when someone is on vacation or has a family crisis.  I long for NICE and I try with all my might to give the kind of service I would want.  Wouldn't it be a great place if EVERYONE did that.

We have a receptionist at our office and I thank my lucky stars each and every day. I so dislike those automated systems. They are so inpersonal not to mention annoying. I agree. If everyone would just try a little harder to be nice the world would be such a more beautiful place.

Yes, Martha, it would be very nice! And if it wouldn't pour every time it rains, if every client was honest, if every agent would answer their phone, if there were no appraisal issues ... if .. if. Yes, that would be nice.

Wouldn't it be nice if banks actually knew what they wanted from their borrowers?

Wouldn't it be nice if a pre-qual actually meant they had pre-qualified the client?

Wouldn't it be nice if people stopped blaming the victims of the mortagage mess that has ruined this country?

Oh, I guess I must have dozed off too.

Wouldn't it be nice if buyers searched the internet for listings from the MLS instead of "other sites" so they were actually looking at ACTIVE listings? Wouldn't it be nice if grocery stores put ramps at the entrance of the grocery store? Wouldn't it be nice if the person checking you out of a store wasn't texting instead of getting you checked out? Wouldn't it be great if banks would refinance the troubled borrowers with 40-year mortgages in order to reduce their monthly payment, but keep their homes? Great dream. I'm sure you will get a lot of great additions.

Ditto marks under each item, Martha. We have been on the wrong end of each more than once.

Hey, we sleep better at night if we allow ourselves to dream.

Good post.

Funny! Love a witty post like yours, makes me smile all the while I am reading it. On the positive: some of the things listed we can actually change, and are in control over, like leaving our cellphones in the purse or car at dinner, not all points on your list are completely lost!

Martha - Having a conversation at dinner, what's that?  Actually when my family and I go out to dinner or eat dinner at home cell phones are not aloud.
