Yikes, summer is on its last legs! If you have not been up, come up now, the weather is awesome and a lot of things going on.
The real estate market continues to be active and inventory is seasonally low. There are a number of buyers on the sidelines waiting for new properties to be offered to the market.
This is also price reduction season and that certainly is happening in full force now. With the market this active, if a property has not sold within 60 days then either the condition, showing availability or the price are not in tune with what the market is looking for. Sellers that would like to see their property sold and have been testing the market through the summer without a sale, are dropping their price.
Some legacy Tahoe estates are being offered to the market. Some of these are compounds that were built in the 1930's and 40's. They have been in the family for a long time. These are properties are on some of the best waterfront on the lake. Acreages with lots of waterfront and of course a big price. There are 4 from $17 million to $20 million. This summer has seen the highest number of Tahoe lakefront homes offered for sale. Great opportunity to move up to a lakefront starting at just under $2 million.
