This afternoon, my friend Jean called and suggested a walk.  Sure, I said.  I'm supposed to be on that 10,000 steps a day plan, and I needed another couple of thousand.  Well, it turned into a 2-mile walk on a really hot day.  Toward the end, we spotted this butterfly on a neighbor's zinnias, and luckily I had my I-Phone in my pocket!

Pat:  If we open our eyes wide enough, we can see beauty in so many unexpected places.  Just another one of Mother Nature's beautiful creatures.  She does such wondrous work, doesn't She?

Very, very beautiful.

You were quick with your iPhone to capture that beautiful butterfly in a photo, Pat. Everytime I see something like that to take a picture of, it is gone by the time I get my camera turned on and ready to take the picture. Good job!

True story: Tiger Swallows were not uncommon in the 1950s.  Then, for a very long time (like ~50 yrs), I never saw any of them.  But for the last 5 years I've seen a couple every summer in my backyard.  My theory: garden environments are healing because less toxic chemicals are used by gardeners.

Pat, I have so many butterflies outside my back door, I love watching them. Great shot by the way. 10,000 steps? Interesting... I should be walking more... with my phone to take pictures of course, LOL.

Yellow on yellow!  Smart butterfly!  Those seem to be really numerous this year.  Our butterfly bush is really popular.

Oh that is a beautiful butterfly.  Nice shot, Pat.  And, glad you got your exercise in.  I need to do that, too.

Pat, that's such a sweet photo.  Do you bring a pedometer with you or are you counting those steps?  Good for you, sometimes the hardest thing to do is excercise in the heat.

Mona:  I just read your comment, and I don't have my contacts in yet.

Sooo... I at first thought what you said was... "Pat, that's such a sweet potato."  So I'm sittin' here trying to figure out just WHY Pat would take a sweet potato with her when she walks.  Then I re-read it, and said... "oops!  Ahhh... the joys of getting old.  LOL...
