I know you have seen photos on the MLS that make no sense at all!  If you are trying to figure out what room you are seeing on MLS then you better believe that a buyer is having a tough time of it too,

Vacant home photos can really be a challenge if there is no natural flow in the order of the photos.  I can't imagine why you would stick a photo of the backyard right after the photo of the kitchen.

Den

When a buyer calls me and says they think they would like to see a certain home, I get on the MLS site and go through the photos with them.  Some of the photos leave me shaking my head!

I have seen photos of bathroom right after a photo of the "elegant entry".   Whoa!  I have to wonder if the sellers have seen these photos.

Dining Room

In this instance, a buyer would have to walk through the den and into the dining room.  It is the way the house flows.  If I put a photo of the master bath right after the photo of the den it would only confuse potential buyers and make them wonder if the master bath connects to the den.  It isn't rocket science.

Hello Pam,

I could also go on , and on on what I can find on MLS... I do think that all agents are capable of doing a great job with photos... they choose not to do it the right way.

Have a great weekend.

Pam, I suggested this post because it isn't only about taking good photos.  If the prospect can't get the idea of how someone moves through the house then they can't get a feel for the house.  It makes us nuts to see listings with the exterior and interior shots alternating.

So true Pam! I think some people just are not born with this insight and need a little verbal help.

Pam,  It's very confusing to potential buyers is right.  It takes but a few minutes longer to organize and label the photos.

While it might not be rocket science for most of us, there are those that still don't get it. I feel your pain!

You're right. I do try to put the photographs in to the MLS in an order that helps the buyer get the feel of the home. NOT necessarily in the order that the photographs were taken. GREAT reminder.

Joni - The order of the photos helps to visually explain the house.

Suggested. The pictures are beautiful and the content is important. It's really not hard to put the pics in order so the viewer can feel like he's walking through the house.
