Ross Lake and Calhoun Park in Beaverton MI

Ross Lake Beaverton MI 48612

Another busy day, I worked the office in the AM. I went home and my dad brought over a bunch of

Blueberries and Leuenberger Corn. With  a little help from family and friends everything was in freezer bags

and the kitchen all clean again before midnight that night.

Had to take two breaks.

One to go vote.

The other to go up to the ball park. calhoun park beaverton mi

Missed the cupcakes... Gladwin county mi

I was greeted with hugs and kisses from my granddaughters and their tiny friends.

My birthday girl granddaughter took me by the hand and we ran together across the field at the ball park. We ran and we

ran until we could run no more. Then I sat in the grass with my other grandchild and we ate doritoes and corn

puffs until our hands were all cheesy.

Marilyn,  what wonderful photos.  Sounds like a terrific day with family especially your grandchildren.

Tell me what is Leunenberger corn?  It is not a variety that I am familiar with.  Much of our corn is shipped in from midwest or south until the local corn is ready at end of  July or August.

Mary, I love days with the babies! They are growing so fast. They are so sweet and smart and beautiful. Every minute with them is a true joy!

Fair question about the corn. Leuenberger corn is not a variety of corn, but a place to buy home grown corn. My husband says that this farmers son and his mother started growing the corn way back when they (he and this farmers son) was in high school. Think he wanted to buy a car or something. Over the years, which is more than 30 of them, they have become very well known for the corn and other vegetables they grow and sell off a hay wagon in the front yard of the old farm house where they grew up.

The old farm is located a main road that goes East off of M30 and takes you out to Pinconning and Lake Huron, but first through the village of Albright Shores and then Estey.

They are closed on Saturdays and open for business usually around 10 AM on the weekdays but close by dinner time. People come from miles around to purchase this corn. And of course all the local people like to buy it to eat, freeze and can as well.

Many of us look forward to this delicious corn on the cob. In fact, a friend of mine sent her mother some in Florida and she was wanting more! Have a great week Mary. Will be over to visit your blog soon!
