I love all this new technology yet haven't master it all yet.

I tried that "dragon naturally speaking" program years ago and wan't impressed at all. I had to ready a number of short stories into it and it still failed to do what I had hoped.

Well, I must tell you it is so cheap now that I tried it again. I was sitting in front of the TV with it on, logged into this program set up to get an idea of how long it was going to take this time to get all set up. I was blown away after reading aloud the instructions... a screen came up about ten minutes after I started it that said "you are all set up, we will now save the data". The next screen said give it a try and still with the TV on in the background I started dicating and it made "zero" mistakes.

I am very impressed with it, and expect to start writing more of my reports with it. Love it M

Which version do you have, Mike? I, too, was disappointed with it eons ago and gave up on it quickly. I wanted it to help type appraisal reports. I just wonder if I don't speak distinctly enough for it? Do you find that a problem? I'm not native Texan so ya'll isn't a problem...LOL....in fact I moved here from San Jose...how is the market in Northern CA?

It was so easy to set up I was astonished. I have version 11 but I see 12 just came out. The hardest part is saying "period" and "comma" as I speak. I am always busy. Market it very busy as a consultant. The problem I'm having now is that while I'm dictating my wife thinks I'm talking to her and says "What honey?" and it types it... just kidding. it doesn't really.

LOL..that's funny...about "What Honey?" And I say that because my husband talks to himself and the TV and I find myself saying "What, Honey?" an awful lot...LOL

I just might have to give the Dragon another chance. I'm just got back in from inspecting two properties for appraisals and now am up to 4 reports to type....speaking them would be so much easier.

Oh, did you have to train it to understand you? Is that still part of the process? Sorry about all the questions but you are the only one I've heard of using it.

I'm interested in your 203 FHA knowledge too..I'm about to do my first FHA 203K appraisal. I've not had a call to do them before but have a house in pretty bad condition that wouldn't pass FHA so they are in the process of getting bids right now so it can go 203K.

Alisa, good luck with your 203k project, it should go without a hitch. Most do. One in a hundred are a problem child but once you realize that is the one you are doing just feel better because the next 99 are trouble free. In any case if there is no structural issues and the removations are under $30,000 it could be a Streamlined k and they go quite fast. If we can be of any assistance let us know.
