Does the Garage count the Front door in Feng Shui? by Laura Cerrano

I recently did a post called "Which front Entrance should I use?" Out of that post came an interesting comment, "I always enter through the garage because that's the easiest." I have had many clients of the past and today whom always ask if it's good Feng Shui to use their garage as the main entrance.

We take a practical approach to Feng Shui and if need be can utilize a more literal approach. Each persons recommendation of Feng Shui cures will be different so this is a general answer to a common question.

Traditionally it's recommended that you always use the front door as your main entry point into your home because it's known as the mouth of chi. This represents all life's energy from the standpoint of your home. It welcomes in all positive opportunities and what ever intentions you have set to achieve.

Feng Shui Advice if you always use you garage is to enhance the pathway to your front entrance so you are still acknowledging the main front door and energy flow in that direction. Many use lights, plants, sound and more to help direct the energy.  It's recommended that you also enhance the inside of you home too.

This is great advice, Laura.  I do have many customers that use the garage as the main entrance, esp in the winter, for obvious reasons.  Great idea to make this entrance more welcoming, regardless of whether it is primary or primary part of the year.

This is very cool information.  So many houses it becomes easy to use the garage entrance but I agree that the front door does have an intrinsic value and acknowledgement that is important to regognize.

Wow, had never thought about this as the entrance, but many times it is part of a hallway and not very welcoming.  Thank you for the thought provoking post.
