What If There Were Real Estate Olympic Games?
By Michelle Carr Crowe
Every four years, the Olympic Games create a universally watched stage and we all benefit from observing world class athletes compete at the highest levels.
Can you imagine how different it would be if there were real estate Olympics?
You'd see chubby little Mommies competing with gray-haired winded gentlemen in the open house sign relays, for example. The contract speed writing competition. The short sale hurdles race.
Hey, I’ve broken boards with my bare hands and I’ve victoriously walked over fire-I can overcome anything the market brings (with God’s help, that is). As the Bible says, “With man this is impossible, with God all things are possible.”
Sure Real Estate Olympic Games would still be entertaining-but more in the comedy relief, reality TV kind of way.
All I can say is thank God our real estate performances aren’t broadcast on nationwide or international television.
It's been interesting to see that America's top medal winners are overwhelmingly female and are among some of the most popular competitions to watch. I personally think that's a good thing. However our own Mark Purdy of the San Jose Mercury News notes that sadly that doesn't translate into sport careers for these female world class athletes.
So I am grateful that while I may not look like one of this year’s hard body 2012 Olympic champions, I am blessed to compete with some of the top real estate professionals in Silicon Valley, Calif.
I look forward to more personal thrills of victory as I embark on my own 2012 Olympic challenge (you can read more at My Goal 6 New Appointments a Week for the Next 6 Weeks-AR Olympic Gold).
